PSALM 16:7-9,11
7 I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; my heart also
instructs me in the night seasons.
8 I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right
hand I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also
will rest in hope.
11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness
of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
PSALM 31:1-24
1 In You, O LORD, I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver
me in Your righteousness.
2 Bow down Your ear to me, deliver me speedily; be my rock of
refuge, a fortress of defense to save me.
3 For You are my rock and my fortress; therefore, for Your name's
sake, lead me and guide me.
4 Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
for You are my strength.
5 Into Your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O LORD
God of truth.
6 I have hated those who regard useless idols; but I trust in
the LORD.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered
my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities,
8 And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; you have
set my feet in a wide place.
9 Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble; my eye wastes
away with grief, yes, my soul and my body!
10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing;
my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away.
11 I am a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among
my neighbors, and am repulsive to my acquaintances; those who
see me outside flee from me.
12 I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken
vessel.
13 For I hear the slander of many; fear is on every side; while
they take counsel together against me, they scheme to take away
my life.
14 But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."
15 My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your face shine upon Your servant; save me for Your mercies'
sake.
17 Do not let me be ashamed, O LORD, for I have called upon You;
let the wicked be ashamed; let them be silent in the grave.
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence, which speak insolent
things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
19 Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for
those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust
in You in the presence of the sons of men!
20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from
the plots of man; you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from
the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be the LORD, for He has shown me His marvelous kindness
in a strong city!
22 For I said in my haste, "I am cut off from before Your eyes";
nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried
out to You.
23 Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints! For the LORD preserves
the faithful, and fully repays the proud person.
24 Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all
you who hope in the LORD.
PSALM 25:1-21
1 To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I trust in You; let me not be ashamed; let not my
enemies triumph over me.
3 Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; let those be
ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.
4 Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my
salvation; on You I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesss,
for they are from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions;
according to Your mercy remember me, for Your goodness' sake,
O LORD.
8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He teaches sinners in
the way.
9 The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His
way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, to such as keep
His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For Your name's sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity, for it is
great.
12 Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the
way He chooses.
13 He himself shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall
inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, and He will
show them His covenant.
15 My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for He shall pluck my feet
out of the net.
16 Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate
and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart have enlarged; bring me out of my
distresses!
18 Look on my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins.
19 Consider my enemies, for they are many; and they hate me with
cruel hatred.
20 Keep my soul, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I
put my trust in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You.
PSALM 37:1-9
1 Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers
of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as
the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed
on His faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the
desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall
bring it to pass.
6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your
justice as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because
of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings
wicked schemes to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret-- it only causes
harm.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the LORD,
they shall inherit the earth.
PSALM 38:1-22
1 O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, nor chasten me in Your
hot displeasure!
2 For Your arrows pierce me deeply, and Your hand presses me down.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger, nor
any health in my bones because of my sin.
4 For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden
they are too heavy for me.
5 My wounds are foul and festering because of my foolishness.
6 I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the
day long.
7 For my loins are full of inflammation, and there is no soundness
in my flesh.
8 I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the turmoil
of my heart.
9 Lord, all my desire is before You; and my sighing is not hidden
from You.
10 My heart pants, my strength fails me; as for the light of my
eyes, it also has gone from me.
11 My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague, and
my relatives stand afar off.
12 Those also who seek my life lay snares for me; those who seek
my hurt speak of destruction, and plan deception all the day long.
13 But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; and I am like a mute who
does not open his mouth.
14 Thus I am like a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth
is no response.
15 For in You, O LORD, I hope; you will hear, O Lord my God.
16 For I said, "Hear me, lest they rejoice over me, lest, when
my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me."
17 For I am ready to fall, and my sorrow is continually before
me.
18 For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my
sin.
19 But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong; and those
who hate me wrongfully have multiplied.
20 Those also who render evil for good, they are my adversaries,
because I follow what is good.
21 Do not forsake me, O LORD; O my God, be not far from me!
22 Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!
PSALM 70:1, 4-5
1 Make haste, O God, to deliver me!...
4 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let
those who love Your salvation say continually, "Let God be magnified!"
5 ...I am poor and needy; make haste to me, O God! You are my
help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.
PSALM 71:1-8, 12, 14-18, 23-24
1 In You, O LORD, I put my trust; let me never be put to shame.
2 Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; incline
Your ear to me, and save me.
3 Be my strong refuge, to which I may resort continually; you
have given the commandment to save me, for You are my rock and
my fortress.
4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of
the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5 For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; you are my trust from my youth.
6 By You I have been upheld from birth; you are He who took me
out of my mother's womb. My praise shall be continually of You.
7 I have become as a wonder to many, but You are my strong refuge.
8 Let my mouth be filled with Your praise and with Your glory
all the day.
12 O God, do not be far from me
14 ... I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and
more.
15 My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation
all the day, for I do not know their limits.
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will make mention
of Your righteousness, of Yours only.
17 O God, You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I
declare Your wondrous works.
18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake
me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, your power
to everyone who is to come.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul,
which You have redeemed.
24 My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day

PSALM 119:9-18, 27-28, 36, 41-45
9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according
to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander
from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against
You!
12 Blessed are You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes!
13 With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as
in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your
word.
17 Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep
Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate
on Your wondrous works.
28 My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to Your
word.
36 Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to covetousness.
41 Let Your mercies come also to me, O LORD-- your salvation according

42 So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I

43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for
I have hoped in Your ordinances.
44 So shall I keep Your law continually, forever and ever.

PSALM 119:151, 156, 159-160,

151 You are near, O LORD, and all Your commandments are truth.
156 Great are Your tender mercies, O LORD; revive me according
to Your judgments.
159 Consider how I love Your precepts; revive me, O LORD, according
to Your lovingkindness.
160 The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your
righteous judgments endures forever.
165 Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes

ROMANS 8:14-28
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons
of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear,
but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba,
Father."
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are
children of God,
17 and if children, then heirs-- heirs of God and joint heirs
with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be
glorified together.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are
not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed
in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for
the revealing of the sons of God.
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly,
but because of Him who subjected it in hope;
21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the
bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children
of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with
birth pangs together until now.
23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the
Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting
for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not
hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?
25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for
it with perseverance.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do
not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself
makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit
is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to
the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those
who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
1 PETER 3:12-18
12 ... the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears
are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against
those who do evil."
13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of
what is good?
14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you
are blessed. "And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled."
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready
to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope
that is in you, with meekness and fear;
16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers,
those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.
17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing
good than for doing evil.
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust,
that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh
but made alive by the Spirit,
HEBREWS 11:1, 3
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word
of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things
which are visible.
1 JOHN 3:1-3
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that
we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does
not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been
revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed,
we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just
as He is pure.
PSALM 39:7
7 "And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.
PSALM 130:2, 5-7
2 Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice
of my supplications.
5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope.
6 My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the
morning-- yes, more than those who watch for the morning.
7 ...hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with
Him is abundant redemption.
ISAIAH 30:18
18 ...the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and
therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For
the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for
Him.
